Ryan's 7th Birthday

Ryan got his first guitar for his 7th birthday. Here he is getting his first lesson from Grandpa John. They practiced for 90 minutes!

His grandparents, mom and dad bought this for him. He had a music teacher in kindergarden that sparked his interest in music and he has not stopped talking about wanting a guitar since.

Ryan's a Cub Scout!

Ryan started Cub Scouts last Monday.  He seems to be really excited so far.  There is a Boy Scout camp about 15 minutes from where we live.  Will post pictures of him in his uniform when it's ready.

Super huge news....Stacy has been accepted to Morehead State University's (yes, that's really the university's name) Nursing Program. Originally she was slotted for the Spring 2011 class and was an alternate for this falls class.  Well, enough people didn't accept their invitation to attend so Stacy got a last minute call to attend the Fall 2010 class.

Stacy is at class as I write this.  She was really upset that she couldn't be with Sammy for her first day of school but these are the sacrifices we must make.  Stacy took two classes this summer in preparation for the nursing program.  She was very busy but still managed to get A's in both classes.  I'm super proud of her.  GOOD JOB HONEY!!!

Sam's First Day of Preschool

Today was Sammy's first day of preschool.  She walked right into class and started playing with the toys.  At first she didn't want me to leave, but soon she was too busy playing to care.  Becky on the other hand had a fit...she didn't want to leave.  Becky cried for an hour...she kept saying "go back."

I guess Sam is still doing okay.  She's been at school for two hours now and no phone calls!

Sam's 4th Birthday

Today was Sam's forth birthday.  As soon as she woke up this morning she was let everyone know it that it was her birthday.  All day long she kept saying, "Happy Birthday!"

When asked how old she is she'll tell you, "Fourteen."

She wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting....that was a lot of chocolate.  Good thing we had a fresh gallon of milk.

We went to the store so she could pick out her own presents...not sure if that's such a good idea.  She would grab just about anything she could get her hands on and toss in into the shopping cart.  In the end, she ended up with a Dora the Explorer guitar, a Playdoh ice cream set, some bubble making gizmo and some nail polish.  She told us a few weeks ago that she wanted some earrings.  Mom said that she wouldn't pierce the girls ears until they wanted them so she just may be getting some earrings soon.

Stacy is also making her a special quilt.

It was a good day.  It's hard to believe another year has clicked off so quickly.

Well, it's been about 5 years since we've updated this blog so I guess it's time to start posting.  Right now it's raining and thundering as we're trying to get the kids to sleep....sounds like Sam is the only one still awake.

Going to get up early and hit the local donut shop and then stop by the farmers market for the first time to see what they've got.
